Our CrawlSpace Waterproofing System Installation Process

The installation of the Wet Basement Solutions of New Hampshire's System is clean and efficient and, depending on the amount of time needed for pre-cleaning and the size of the crawl space, can usually be accomplished in a couple of days.

Step 1. We begin our installation by cleaning out all debris from the crawl space to create a clean dirt or gravel floor and foundation walls free of any obtrusions or other objects that may interfere with the installation process Step 1. Clean out the crawl space

Step 2. Any existing water problems are corrected. If the crawl space is prone to flooding, it may be necessary to install a sump pump, foundation cracks repaired, or perform other maintenance repairs to alleviate excessive water in the crawl space. Excess water problems must be resolved first

Step 3. Our radon gas and water dispersing drain fabric is then placed over existing prepared and leveled soil. This specially designed drain fabric allows the dissipation of moisture and the collection of radon and other dangerous gases. Radon Gas Fabric

Step 4. Our radon gas collection pipe and pressure relief vent pipe are installed. The gas collection pipes are installed on the entire perimeter of the crawl space to collect radon and other gases and safely dissipates them to the outside. Collection Pipe

Step 5. Our moldable roll adhesive is then attached along the top edge of the foundation wall as well as vertically on the wall to provide an anchor and air-tight seal for the foundation wall liner. Roll adhesive

Step 6. Our waterproof insulating blanket is then placed over foundation walls and attached to our pre-formed moldable adhesive, providing an airtight seal. Foundation Wall Blanket

Step 7. Our floor liner is then rolled out over the drain fabric and bonded together at all seams. The floor liner needs to be cut to go around pipes, footings, and other obstacles, creating a near perfect fit as possible to insure an air-tight seal when completed. Foundation Wall Blanket

Step 8. All voids around pipes, sump pumps, floor supports, etc. are then sealed with our moldable adhesive and all liner joints sealed with our exclusive sealing tape. Great care must be taken at this step to insure that the entire system is air-tight. Filling all voids

Step 9. If selected as an option, the heat shield is stapled to bottom of floor joist (foil side up). This heat shield, recommended for colder climates, can greatly reduce heat loss and your energy bill. Heat Shield

Step 10. Finally, we do a complete inspection of the area to insure that everything is sealed and the crawl space is ready for use. Finished Crawl Space
